The limits to understand before buying
The big one is voice and SMS. Nomad's help centre says its eSIMs are optimised for data-based services and do not support traditional voice calls and SMS. Most travellers can work around that with WhatsApp or their normal SIM, but it matters if you expect local phone calls, SMS verification or a local number. Second, the plan is digital and time-sensitive. Nomad's refund policy says an uninstalled or unactivated plan is fully refundable when requested within 30 days. Nomad activation timing
Most Nomad eSIMs start when they connect to the supported local network, with data roaming turned on. Nomad says an unused plan can auto-activate 60 days after purchase. That is a good reason to buy close enough to the trip that you will not forget it.
