Country plan or Europe plan?
| Itinerary | Better starting point | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| One week in Italy only | Italy country plan | Simple and often best value for one country |
| France, Belgium and Netherlands | Europe regional plan | One setup for the whole route |
| Europe plus UK | Check country list closely | UK inclusion should never be assumed |
| Europe plus USA/Canada | Compare a wider regional/global plan | May be easier than changing profiles mid-trip |
Europe is a region, not one mobile network. A plan called "Europe" can have a different country list from another Europe plan. Borders, islands and territories are where lazy assumptions cause trouble. Open the live plan page and confirm every overnight stop, not only the headline cities.
How much Europe data is enough?
For a rail holiday, navigation and booking apps use a steady but manageable amount of data. A 3–10GB range is often a sensible first look for a week or two of normal use; move higher if you post video, work from trains or tether a laptop. Download maps and entertainment on Wi-Fi before travel so your first data day is not spent on app updates.
Nomad says its eSIMs are data-led, so WhatsApp, FaceTime, Signal and similar apps are the normal route for messages/calls. Keep your home SIM only for the number you need, and turn off automatic data switching so it does not use chargeable home roaming data. See does Nomad eSIM include calls, texts or a number.

Applying the coupon
Choose the exact Europe plan, then enter ESIMDUDE15 in Nomad's Promo Code field before payment. Check the final price. Nomad says promo codes cannot be used retroactively, so there is no benefit in rushing through checkout.
The code is for eligible plans only. Do not attempt to combine it with a referral code unless Nomad explicitly shows that combination is allowed.
Setup before crossing borders
Install with stable Wi-Fi, save the QR/manual details, and turn on the travel eSIM on arrival. Most Nomad plans activate when they connect to a local supported network with data roaming enabled. When you enter the next included country, give the phone a moment to register; a quick airplane-mode toggle can help refresh the connection.
If you lose data, check data-line selection, roaming, the exact country list and your data balance before changing APN settings. Our Nomad eSIM troubleshooting guide gives the correct order.
FAQ
Does Nomad Europe eSIM work in every European country?
No regional label guarantees that. Check the individual plan's included-country list before buying, particularly for UK legs, islands and territories.
Can I use a Europe eSIM for calls and texts?
Most Nomad plans are for data services. App calls work over data; traditional calls/SMS depend on the exact plan and are not the default.
Does Nomad Europe eSIM work after a border crossing?
It should work in countries listed by the exact plan. Keep data roaming on for the Nomad line and wait for local network registration after crossing.
Can I use ESIMDUDE15 on a Europe plan?
Use it at checkout and confirm the saving. Eligibility is determined by the live checkout/plan terms.
Bottom line
Nomad Europe eSIM is built for a route, not just a destination. List your countries first, choose a plan that truly includes them all, then use ESIMDUDE15 if the checkout accepts it.
